CarlandIn 2001 Carland (born 1999) was approved for Holstein breeding at the annual stallion selection in Neu- münster where he was noted for his remarkably beautiful type, for best movement and extremely promising jumping qualities. His sire Contender, with more   than 40 approved sons in Holstein, Hannover, Westphalia and Oldenburg, is one of the most influential upgraders in German sport horse breeding. Carland is bred out of Helle III, a daughter of the famous showjumper progenitor Landgraf I, wich we are familiar with as the sire of first class specimens such as Libero H, Taggi, Freestyle, Lucky Luke and Larcos. Carland carries the blood of Landgraf I once again via Reichgraf ( Rinaldo ) in the third generation via the mare Opheila.
Carland’s grandma, Charmante, is also familiar to us as the dam to the approved stallion Seven Valleys ( Sir Shostakovich xx ). The dam’s line goes back via the stallions Reichsgraf and Capitano to the mars Inis II ( Roman ) from Gerd Magen’s renowned 308 sports lineage. The successful breeding stallions Cortez I and II ( Cor de la Bryère ), Salahudine ( sir Shostakovich xx ) and Cannonball ( Cor de la Bryère ) also can be traced back to Inis II. Cortez I in particular, can be counted as one of the most influential showjumper prognitors within Swedish breeding.

Carland is now showjumping in Sweden, where he jumps 1.35m. This summer he will jump 1.40m. In march 2006 Carland was also approved in Sweden. For videoclips please visit the site http://www.sportbreeding.se and click on videoklipp.
